    Description

    This specimen of
    Kainops invius
is completely enrolled. The trilobite is from the Cravat Member of the Bois d' Arc formation, near Clarita, Oklahoma. It is approximately 400 million years old (Lower Devonian, Helderbergian).
This beautifully preserved trilobite is similar to
    Phacops
except it has a longer glabella and it is similar to
    Paciphacops
but has more eye facets. The schizochoal eye lenses have been well-prepped out and are well-preserved in both eyes. The bug measures 0.55 inches long  (it is curled) and 0.65 inches wide. There has been no repair or restoration, but it has been coated with a thin veneer of varnish to stabilize it.
All of my fossils are guaranteed authentic and have been legally obtained.
