    :  This Exceptionally Clean beautiful
    38
    year old
    288
    Double Mantle
    lantern was purchased by me at a recent estate along with another
    288A
    from the same estate. BOTH were bought NEW by the original owner.
    The date code:
    11/83
    was the
    FIRST
    year for the Model
    288
    Lantern.
    This lantern displays very nicely. No rust, just a tiny ding on the lower rim and some edge wear. The
    VENTILATOR
    is shiny and solid with a couple of tiny chips,
    NO
    RUST!
    The Burner cage is rust free and shiny as is the rest of the metal & brass hardware.
    The Coleman Globe is a NEW replacement as the original was not there. The generator is used, a
    NEW
    Generator is always recommended for best operational results.  This Lantern pumps up nicely and holds pressure. Air flows freely. All Valves operate smoothly.
